Dorayne is a retired clinical chemist who spent her career in the biomedical field, but her true passion has always been the great outdoors. A lifelong nature enthusiast, she finds deep joy in hiking and walking—drawn to the beauty of wildlife, wildflowers, trees, and the peaceful rhythms of the natural world.
For Dorayne, time on the trail is not only physically invigorating but also spiritually enriching. She sees the hand of God in the diversity of creation, and hiking offers her a way to connect with both nature and faith.
She believes in the importance of staying active as we age and finds that hiking is one of the best ways to keep the body strong and the mind refreshed. As a hike guide, she loves introducing others to new trails, hidden gems, and the simple pleasures of being outside.
Her favorite trail in Pelham is Merriam Farm, which she especially recommends for seniors due to its gentle terrain and beautiful open meadow. Dorayne brings to her role a wealth of experience, having hiked with the Appalachian Mountain Club and various travel groups throughout the U.S., Canada, and beyond. Her adventures have taken her through National Parks across North America, the ancient trails of Machu Picchu in Peru, the waterfalls of Chile and Argentina, the wild beauty of South Africa, and the landscapes of Italy and Greece.
She has a growing knowledge of birds and local plant life and enjoys sharing what she learns with others. Dorayne leads easy to moderate hikes and nature walks, always aiming to make each outing welcoming, meaningful, and fun.
