Volunteer with Pelham Pathways
Got an hour? A skill? A love of the outdoors? We can use you.
Pelham Pathways runs entirely on volunteers — neighbors who care about trails, gardens, pickleball, birds, and building a community where people of all ages can get outside and feel welcome. You don’t need to be an expert. You don’t need to commit your life.
If you’ve ever said, “Someone should really take care of that,” congratulations — today, that someone could be you.
Choose Your Adventure
🌿 Trails, Trees & the Great Outdoors
If you like fresh air and don’t mind a little dirt (or explaining to friends why your boots are muddy):
- Help shape the future of Pelham’s trails
- Join the Community Trail Coalition
- Lead (or help lead) guided hikes — no clipboard required
- Work on fun projects like geocaching
- Pitch in on invasive species removal days
- Feed birds, clean birdhouses, and quietly debate whether that sound was a woodpecker… or a squirrel being dramatic
🚶 Guided Hikes & Nature Programs
If you enjoy pointing at trees and saying, “I never noticed that before”:
- Lead or co-lead relaxed, friendly guided walks
- Help make nature accessible and welcoming to everyone
- Share what you love — you don’t need to know every Latin name (no one’s quizzing you)
🌼 Celebration Park
Perfect for people who like visible results and mild bragging rights:
- Seasonal garden clean-ups (spring & fall — rain date TBD, of course)
- Garden watering (surprisingly calming, except when someone asks if you’re “in charge”)
- Help plan what comes next for the park — yes, benches are a hot topic
🏓 Pickleball (Yes, It’s Still a Big Deal)
If you’ve ever driven past the courts and wondered why everyone looks so serious:
- Volunteer as an instructor or helper
- Assist with clinics, open play, or events
- Help welcome new players and reassure them that everyone was confused their first week
🤝 Community Events & Outreach
If you enjoy talking with neighbors (or just listening):
- Help out at Old Home Day and other community events
- Share what Pelham Pathways is up to — no microphone, no speeches
- Smile, nod, and occasionally explain, “Yes, this really is all volunteer-run.”
💡 Something Else?
Have a talent we didn’t list? Even better.
- Photography, writing, organizing, light admin
- One-day projects or short-term help
- Behind-the-scenes magic that keeps things running
Do something good. Get outside. Meet great people.
Pelham Pathways is powered by volunteers who love trails, gardens, pickleball, birds, and building a community that actually shows up for itself.
No experience required. No long-term commitment.
Just neighbors helping neighbors — and occasionally debating benches.
