Discover Pelham’s Trail Network
Nestled in the heart of Pelham is an extensive 23+ mile trail network, offering countless opportunities for outdoor recreation. Whether you’re taking a leisurely stroll, going for an invigorating run, biking, skiing, or enjoying horseback riding, these trails connect our community to the beauty of nature and provide a sanctuary for adventure and relaxation.
Recognizing the need for greater accessibility, the CTC Committee is committed to ensuring that everyone—regardless of age or ability—can experience the joy of the outdoors.
Explore the trails. Embrace the outdoors. Together, we’re building pathways for everyone.

What is the Community Trails Coalition Committee?
The Community Trail Coalition Committee (CTC) engages residents and visitors with Pelham’s growing network of trails—promoting safe, inclusive, and welcoming outdoor spaces for people of all ages and abilities. Guided by a shared belief that nature is for everyone, the CTC Committee fosters a deep appreciation for conservation through education, outreach, and hands- on experiences that inspire healthy living and environmental stewardship. The CTC Committees’ dedicated volunteers research the history, flora, and fauna of local trails, create educational brochures, and organize guided hikes that bring Pelham’s landscapes to life. Together, they cultivate a shared sense of responsibility for preserving our natural resources—building connections not only between trails, but between neighbors, generations, and the land itself. In 2025, the CTC Committee’s most transformative accomplishment was leading the creation of Virginia’s All Persons Trail at Merriam Farm Conservation Area—a universally accessible nature trail and a shining example of what community collaboration can achieve.
What We Do

We advocate for inclusive trails suitable for people of all ages and abilities, distribute tips for safe outdoor exploration, and highlight accessible trails with clear signage and virtual tours. - Community Engagement and Outreach:
We host educational events such as guided hikes, yoga sessions, geocaching adventures, and conservation workshops. We also develop and share informational materials, including maps, wildlife facts, and trail updates to enhance community connection with nature. - Conservation Education:
We provide insights into Pelham’s habitats, wildlife, and ecosystems, raise awareness about preserving wetlands, grasslands, and water resources, and emphasize the role of outdoor recreation in supporting health and wellness. - Trail Marketing and Advocacy:
Acting as a promotional arm for Pelham’s trails and conservation efforts, we increase awareness through social media, newsletters, and community events. We also advocate for accessible and inclusive outdoor spaces in grant applications and town initiatives.
