How To Use Sign-Up Genius (SUG)

We use Sign-Up Genius (SUG) to help players connect and see when others are planning to play.

  • Download the app or visit signupgenius.com.
  • Search for LynneHildreth@comcast.net or scan the posted QR codes.
  • Enter your expected arrival time in the comments section.

Note: SUG does not reserve courts—it’s simply a way to connect with fellow players and coordinate play.

The Culture of Pickleball

Pickleball is more than just a game—it’s a community. Unlike tennis and many other sports, pickleball has a social, welcoming culture that encourages players to mix in, rotate, and meet new people.

  • Rotation Over Reservation: Courts are shared, and players join games as they open. You don’t hold a court for yourself—you flow into the next rotation.
  • Inclusive Play: All skill levels play side by side. New players are welcomed and often paired with more experienced ones who are happy to help.
  • Fun First: Yes, there’s competition, but laughter and camaraderie are just as important as the score.

Court Rules & Etiquette

To keep play enjoyable and safe for all:

Support the Courts: A yearly donation is encouraged to help maintain our Hobbs courts.

Public Access: Courts are open to everyone. Scheduled lessons may take priority. Private bookings are not permitted, although Pelham Parks & Recreation may reserve time as needed.

Play Responsibly: Each player is responsible for knowing their limits. Play at your own risk.

Respect the Courts: Please do not hang items on the mesh fencing, and help us keep the courts in good condition.

Open Play & Rotation

Games to 11, Win by 2 (or to 9 if others are waiting).

Rotation System: At the end of each game, 4 players exit and 4 new players rotate in. If only a few are waiting, winners may remain for up to two games.

Advanced Play: Dedicated hours are available for competitive play on two courts. Please be prepared for fast, challenging games.
