Description: Explore the Wonders of Merriam Farm: Discover the beauty of Pelham’s newest town forest. Merriam Farm boasts 2 easy walking rails. The Field Trail is a gently graded 0.7 mile trail that skirts the edge of the field as it passes by the Bluebird Sanctuary managed by Pelham Bluebird Society and ends at a viewing bench overlooking Beaver Brook. The Beaver Brook Trail is a 0.4 mile trail that follows Beaver Brook where you can enjoy watching waterfowl and the gently flowing brook, as this Prime Wetland Area winds around the edge of the property. Merriam Farm is also haven for wildlife, boasting a unique 16 acre Field Habitat. In a landscape where grasslands are dwindling, this habitat provides a crucial refuge for numerous species of birds, mammals and reptiles. Our knowledgeable nature trail guides will highlight the natural wonders of this beautiful area, from majestic trees to diverse birdlife and fascinating wetlands and field habitats.
Parking: Parking is available at the park entrance off of Mammoth Road. The parking lot is small. A parking attendant will guide vehicles. Additional parking is available at Pelham Veteran’s Memorial Park.
Activity: KIDS Nature Bingo – Look for plants, pine cones, butterfly sightings and more. Identify them on the bingo grid. Prizes for winners!
