Field Maps Ap
ArcGIS Field Maps is Esri’s premier maps app on mobile devices. Use Field Maps to explore the maps you make in ArcGIS, collect and update your authoritative data, and record where you’ve gone, all within a single location-aware app.

One of the better trail mapping tools. The best feature is that it can actually show you your location on the trail rather than guessing where you may be on a static map.
— Linda
Unfortunately the tool only has the most major trails in town and some of the lesser known trails are not shown like you would see with All Trails.

GIS Map Viewer
GIS Mapping is a tool that can help people explore public trails, watershed areas, terrain features, land ownership details and much more. These maps are very similar in design to “google Maps” but offer a wide array of overlays that are specific to our region. Users do not need to “download” anything, they can simply use this tool by clicking “Learn More” below.

I use GIS map viewer all the time! Sometimes I’m curious about documented flooding areas in town or maybe I want to see the satellite topography of a town park to see if any large cliffs or natural features stand out which I then go explore. Other times it helps me understand when I am walking on town land or when I cross over into private land. Such a powerful tool!
— Tony
Its not the easiest tool to use on a cell phone but it can be done. Its certainly not something you need to use and open every time you want to take a hike but for specific needs I can see how it may be useful.

- Users can go to AllTrails.com for desktop computer navigation or

AllTrails is such a powerful application. I use it every time I go hiking. Anything from wandering around town land to hiking 4000 footers in the white mountains. The trail reports are a great feature when you are curious about trail conditions.
— Brett
The desktop application is easy enough to use but downloading the application on my phone can be a bit cumbersome. Searching Youtube for instructions on how to download is always my Go-To!

I didn’t even know much about Geocaching when I started, but I am so glad I found it here on PelhamPathways.com! It has brought a whole new level of fun and excitement to hiking with my family and I. We now make plans specifically to go out and find new Geocaching sites regularly.
— Paul
The desktop application really doesn’t offer much. This is truly a cell phone based tool.
