If you’ve spent any time on the pickleball courts in Pelham, chances are you’ve seen Lynn Gannon in action—either playing with enthusiasm or helping new players discover the game she loves. A lifelong athlete with a fearless spirit, Lynn was once dubbed a tomboy for her willingness to jump into any sport. Today, that same drive fuels her commitment to growing Pelham’s vibrant pickleball community.
Married for 33 years and a proud mom of two adult sons, Lynn is also excited to become a first-time grandparent in December 2025. After a brief retirement, she returned to part-time work—but she always finds time for pickleball.

Introduced to the sport by a friend, Lynn was instantly hooked. “Pickleball is the perfect mix of cardio, technique, and FUN,” she says. Over the years, the game has provided her with more than just exercise—it’s built lasting friendships and become a favorite way to connect with loved ones. She’s taught many friends and family members how to play, and it’s now a shared passion in her circle.
As a volunteer instructor, Lynn enjoys watching players of all ages come together, build confidence, and stay active. “This is the one sport where everyone—young or old—can participate,” she explains. “It’s never too late to start.”
Her advice to beginners? “Just try. Trust me—you’ll play once and be hooked. We have a patient and supportive community here in Pelham that welcomes all levels of play and loves sharing knowledge with newcomers.”
Behind the scenes, Lynn is also an incredible support to the program’s leadership. Volunteer Pickleball Coordinator Lynne Hildreth shares, “Lynn’s special volunteering is invaluable to me—she helps maintain SignUpGenius, tackles computer tasks and tech issues, and reaches out to players when needed. I couldn’t do this without her.”
Fun fact: Pickleball has been around for over 50 years! If you’re curious about the gear—outdoor pickleballs have 40 holes and are slightly heavier, while indoor balls have 26 holes and are softer.
Lynn’s passion, positivity, and quiet leadership make her a true ambassador for the game. Whether you’re picking up a paddle for the first time or looking to refine your skills, Lynn is ready to help you get started—and have fun while doing it.
