Discover Pelham’s Trail Network
Nestled in the heart of Pelham is an extensive 23+ mile trail network, offering countless opportunities for outdoor recreation. Whether you’re taking a leisurely stroll, going for an invigorating run, biking, skiing, or enjoying horseback riding, these trails connect our community to the beauty of nature and provide a sanctuary for adventure and relaxation.
Recognizing the need for greater accessibility, the CTC Committee is committed to ensuring that everyone—regardless of age or ability—can experience the joy of the outdoors.
Explore the trails. Embrace the outdoors. Together, we’re building pathways for everyone.

What is the Community Trails Coalition Committee?
The Community Trail Coalition Committee, often called the CTC, is a volunteer committee of Pelham Pathways that helps residents and visitors discover, enjoy, and care for Pelham’s growing network of trails and conservation lands.
Guided by the belief that nature is for everyone, the CTC promotes safe, inclusive, and welcoming outdoor experiences for people of all ages and abilities. Through education, outreach, guided hikes, trail brochures, stewardship projects, and hands-on learning, the committee helps build a deeper appreciation for Pelham’s forests, wetlands, wildlife, history, and open spaces.
CTC volunteers research the history, plants, wildlife, and natural features of local trails; create educational materials; organize guided hikes; support trail stewardship; and help bring Pelham’s landscapes to life for the community. Their work strengthens connections not only between trails, but also between neighbors, generations, and the land itself.
In 2025, one of the committee’s most transformative accomplishments was helping lead the creation of Virginia’s All Persons Trail at Merriam Farm Conservation Area — a universally accessible nature trail and a shining example of what community collaboration can achieve. The Community Trail Coalition Committee is led by co-chairs Linda Irish-Simpson and Joy Turner. The committee typically meets on the second Monday of each month and welcomes residents who are interested in trails, conservation, outdoor recreation, education, and community stewardship.
